| Tiivistelmä: | The multilocation facility modernization problem is addressed. The definition of the multilocation modernization problem is presented, as well as a node-arc linear integer multicommodity flow representation. The emphasis is on near-optimal solutions. Some relaxation methods based on the linear programming formulation are discussed. Heuristics applicable to this problem are described in detail. The network flow linear programming, the relaxation, and the slope heuristic are compared in a variety of multilocation test problems with heterogeneous computation cost and demand parameters. |
