Tiivistelmä:The process allocation problem encountered in telecommunications is dealt with, where a number of processes have to be allocated to identical processors. The target is to determine an allocation which has the minimum message-passing. Processors have constraints on code-, data-storage and occupancy. Co-location constraints can also be catered for. The problem is stated as a maximization zero-one linear programming problem using a new process-to-process formulation which provides the number of processors required with the optimum solution. The implicit enumeration algorithm used for the solution of the problem is also presented.
