Tiivistelmä:The objective of this paper is to develop a theoretical framework for understanding the basic assumptions level of organizational culture. The paper contains - an introduction to basic assumptions and their use in interpreting strategic behaviour in organizations, - a review of the literature on individual, group, and organizational dynamics, - a description of nine organizational basic assumptions themes, and - some suggestions on how basic assumptions may be diagnosed and studied.
