| Tiivistelmä: | As global competition swells, companies are turning to Electronic Data Interchange /EDI/ technologies which facilitate computer-to-computer communications of standardized electronic transactions between sites. Suppliers and users of EDI services have interest in supporting the boom in international trade. But conflicting standards may slow worldwide growth over the next few years. E.g., USA and European standards for the auto industry are incompatible. The international challenges for the spreading of EDI, like cultural and legal issues, standards incapability, distance and other problems are discussed and some proposals to solve the conflicts are given. |
