Tiivistelmä: | It is clear that our collective knowledge of global management and global competition is not adequate for addressing many pressing problems facing global firms. The Michigan Global Agenda Symposium in June 1990 has targeted a number of such research issues. A taxonomy of organizational patterns is provided and investigated including the multinational firm, the international firm, the global firm. Some major themes and problems are specified: the relationships between globalization and competition, sources of competitive advantage for the global firm, joint ventures and business alliances, implementation of global strategies. The interplay between political, social and economic policies, the role of governments etc. are also mentioned. |
