| Tiivistelmä: | The thousands of companies all over the UK that now employ JIT (just in time) manufacturing techniques show the wide acceptance which the concept has gained amongst progressive managements. JIT approach is spilling down the manufacturing supply chain. The classic JIT schedulung techniques aren't right for process environment where prodution is dominated by expensive capital equipment and relatively simple one or two-stage processes. However, a combined approach, although different from the standard just in time method, can enable companies not only to meet the increasing pressure for JIT deliveries, but also to achieve performance improvements. |
