| Tiivistelmä: | The process of dealing with Chinese debtors has changed. Most significantly, it is no longer safe for western firms to assume that ultimately they are dealing with the state. Now the Chinese government says it wants companies, even state-owned ones, to stand on their own, or to fall. The picture is frighteneningly complicated. Foreign firms understand that not all Chinese credits carry the same risks, but figuring out a company's place in the Chinese hierarchy can be tough. Politics is often more important than economics. |
