| Tiivistelmä: | Victor Nee and David Stark have been studying socialist societies for at least 10 years. They have been producing interesting work that tries to develop theory and, moreover, have bravely collected data. These papers are solid and important contributions, not just to the study of societies transitioning from socialism, but to political and economic sociology. In this comment, the author has three purposes: to discuss how these papers are incomplete, to consider how they generally do and do not contribute to the dialogue about comparative capitalism in economic sociology, and to suggest how these papers ought to be linked more closely with other studies. |
