| Tiivistelmä: | This paper discusses the concept of emotional intelligence (EI). It traces the historical roots of social intelligence and the current status of EI. As Thorndike has suggested, social intelligence is independent of academic intelligence and it exists outside the typical scientific domain. Data necessary for demostrating the link between EI and work-related behavior appears to be in proprietary databases, preventing exact tests of measurement devices. |
