| Tiivistelmä: | Integrating the cognitive, social, cultural and material dimensions of practice is a great challenge for researchers studying science and engineering and the knowledge construction there. In the science studies there is an artificial gap between literature on cognitive practices and cultural practices. Only rich social, cultural and material contexts enable such cognitions that can produce scientific knowledge. The author seeks to integrate the different dimension of practice and examines the model-based reasoning practices biomedical engineering research laboratories regarded as evolving cognitive cultural systems. |
