| Tiivistelmä: | A brief description of orthodox and heterodox diagnoses of economic instabilities and the respective stabilization concepts are given. Stabilization programs in four Latin American countries are analysed and compared: Bolivia and Chile as examples of orthodox programs and Brasil and Peru as examples of heterodox programs. The comparative analysis suggests that without orthodox austerity measures a stabilization program is bound to fail. |
