| Tiivistelmä: | The role of university science parks in fostering interorganizational technology transfers and technological development is examined. The development of science parks is contrasted with the theoretical and empirical findings from scholarly work in the area of the management of technology. Empirical data from Belgian and Dutch science park firms are interpreted and discussed. The data collection mainly focused on the interactions of park-based firms with their research and development environment. It is argued that a science park is not necessarily the best way for solving scientific and technological problems. The broader issues of technological development are explored. |
