| Tiivistelmä: | In the coming decades, Shanxi province's population will continue to grow and its total population will reach 32.67 million in 2000 and 35.30 million in 2010. Especially the proportion of the ageing population will increase rapidly, which will make it enter the "ageing" society round about 2010. So from now on , attention should be paid to the issues related to it, such as social insurance, community service construction, the guarantee system for providing for the aged and the adjustment of industrial structure. Before 2010, Shanxi's people old enough to participate in labour and the employment population reaching 16 years old will present a rising trend and the proportion of total upbringing population will fall within stability. Such a patter of population development will provide the economic and social development with both chances and challenges. |
