Tiivistelmä: | The topic of this essay is Israel M. Kirzner, the 2006 winner of The International Award for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research, and his main contributions to the economics of entrepreneurship. In particular, Kirzner's definition of the entrepreneurial funtion is posited in the Austrian tradition in order to better understand his theory. This theory is compared with the neoclassical framework concluding that Kirzner's concept opens up different perspectives. The paper suggests that, perhaps, Kirzner's main contribution to economics of entrepreneurship has been in decreasing the gap between Austrian School and mainstream by clarifying the Austrian thinking to non-Austrians. |
