| Tiivistelmä: | We present a brief overview of the main causes for the current crisis of public pension systems - which is also a crisis in financing these systems.The long-term and sustainable solution for the public pension system of Slovenia is mainly in an orderly and phased decrease in pension rights, as well as in reestablishing a closer link between contributions and pension rights - though still providing for redistribution.Radical solutions, geared toward a drastic shrinking of the public system and introducing a mandatory saving scheme, are deemed not suitable for Slovenia.We advocate a greated emphasis on the development of voluntary individual pension schemes. |
