| Tiivistelmä: | A methodology is presented which can be used in deciding what controls should be included in a computer based information system. The approach is intended for use by the software engineer responsible for the system development. The method presented involves the use of a mathematical model which permits the analysis of cost-benefit tradeoffs. Techniques for obtaining the information required by the model are discussed. The feasibility of the mathematical portion of the methodology is demonstrated by applying it to a case of realistic size. The major contribution of the paper is that it brings different techniques together into a coherent and feasible methodology which addresses the problem in its entirety. |
