| Tiivistelmä: | Most existing analyses of domestic energy demand are conducted at an aggregate level. The case for disaggregated modelling at the level of the individual household is argued, some of the problems involved are reviewed, and some results are presented which take a limited step in the right direction. The results are provided from a microeconometric model of expenditure on gas and electricity which is estimated using microdata on a sample of households. Equations are estimated separately for both gas and electricity demand for households with a gas supply and electricity demand for those without. The nature of price and income responses is shown. |
