| Tiivistelmä: | There has been an explosion in the number of available Information systems development methodologies /ISDMs/. Different types of development situation need different methodologies, thus Information systems practitioners are faced with a selection problem. The literature reports a number of methodology selection techniques. Reviewing a cross-section of these techniques, the authors argue that on the whole, they do not adequately address the entire selection issue. It is suggested that there are two facets to the problem, namely process model selection and tool selection. The techniques reviewed either attempt a blanket solution for both facets or a solution for one while ignoring the other. |
