Tiivistelmä:Achieving balance in our personal lives has traditionally been through our own efforts. But organizations can play a role. Organizational theorists addressed this issue when they recognized workers not only as workers, but also as human beings. They also recognized that employees' needs can influence their effectiveness at work. The workplace responded by offering formal programs for employee participation and career development, for physical fitness, time management, and stress reduction. But employees can enhance their effectiveness through those programs and still fail to achieve personal and professional balance.
