Tiivistelmä:This paper explores the drawbacks and benefits of chain affiliation. It can be a source of operating knowledge and economies of scale for components and also a source of strategic constraint. The effects of chain affiliation on the failure of component organizations and competitive dynamics in the Manhattan hotel industry, is demonstrated.
