| Tiivistelmä: | The Amsterdam summit in June confirmed the Commission's action plan for the single market, which is designed to stimulate and improve its working in tandem with preparations for the single currency. The programme breaks down the work needed into three phases which should be achieved by January 1, 1999. Phase 1 includes action which can be achieved in the short term as they do not need further legislation. Phase 2 covers measures awaiting adoption as soon as possible. |
