| Tiivistelmä: | This study contributes to the literature concerning good management in Brazilian supermarket industry sector. The objective is evaluating the performance of the sector by utilizing data envelopment analysis. A sample composed of 50 major supermarket chains is used to identify levels of total technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and inefficiency of scale. Also, the type of return-to-scale and the level of change of efficiency are investigated through time. |
