Tiivistelmä:Strategic issue categorization theory proposes that decision makers' cognitions and motivations systematically affect the processing of issues and the types of organizational actions taken in response to them. Hypothesis is that the labelling of strategic issues as either threats or opportunities by key managers will affect subsequent information processing in the organization and responses. A study of senior American and Japanese executives offered an opportunity to test a major hypothesis of the theory and to examine influence of organization size, perceptions of the environment and culture.
