| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of the paper is to examine and compare the effects of policy responses on growth patterns of output and employment in Taiwan and Korea. For this purpose input-output tables of Taiwan for 1974 and 1984 and of Korea for 1973 and 1983 are used. The period includes two oil shocks and world recessions. Strong labour absorption resulting from outward-looking type growth pattern can be expected for Taiwan and weaker labour absorption resulting from capital-intensive heavy industry- type growth pattern can be expected for Korea. |
