Tiivistelmä:Three innovative ways are suggested to enhance business performance and unlock value. The first is the enhancement of entrepreneurial motivation. The chance to build personal wealth through equity is a better motivation than even the most ingenious bonus plan. An especially effective initiative for motivation is the leveraged equity purchase plan /LEPP/. With a LEPP, shareholders continue to own stock in a public company while management feels the pressure of a buyout. The second innovation is the impact of balance sheet restructuring. Internal LBOs (leveraged buyouts) and the power of leverage are discussed. The third improvement possibility is the utilizing of benefits of decentralizing authority and ownership. A description of a case-study in value creation illustrates the article.
