Tiivistelmä: | This paper considers the situation in Central European healthcare systems. This survey units the following sub- articles: 1) "Life in their hands" considering privatization in Hungary hospitals. The paper states that privatization could help the region's hospitals, if it's properly regulated; 2) "Radical care" where the authors consider the situation with Poland's new healthcare system. The paper states that it was bound to cause a stir and that many hospitals in Poland claim their contracts with the funds are bleeding them dry; 3) "Exploited?" where the authors consider the situation with Czech healthcare system, stating that Czech doctors are badly paid, but they are prepared to do their job. |
