| Tiivistelmä: | This article analyses the effect of electricity restructuring to the efficiency of U.S. nuclear power generation by exploiting data on 73 investor-owned nuclear plants in the United States from 1992 to 1998. The potential policy endogeneity bias are taken into consideration when measuring the plant-level cross-sectional and longitudinal efficiency changes related to restructuring. The results suggest a clear positive link between the restructuring and cost reduction, and increased plant utilization. |
