| Tiivistelmä: | In Italy there is no legal restriction on the publication of opinion polls before the elections. It has given rise to a lot of controversy without any real solution. Responsible Italian research institutes have an unspoken agreement to comply with the ESOMA code. The main problem is the extremely high number of people refusing to state party preference. The reasons for this behaviour are examined with the aid of a 1985 DOXA survey. |
