Their reasoning was simple: Large institutional clients would not pay commission on high-volume business, thus there would be no room for agency brokers. However, Capel is well and alive, because its clients were ready to pay commission for unbiased market advice. Another reason of the success is the reputation of the firm. Clients are happy to work together with Capel. And the firm could retain the profession's stars with lower than average salaries. |
