Tiivistelmä:Analyzed are the compensation systems of enterprises based in the People's Republic of China, using a longitudinal, historical perspective. Examined is the evolution of compensation systems in China, beginning with their cultural, ideological, and political foundations and continuing with the changes in the allocation of the various compensation components. Discussed are the recent reforms, including the changes in wage levels, employee attitudes, and the growing inequity across regional and ownership lines.
