| Tiivistelmä: | This article investigates the public funding of research and development (hereafter as R&D) and its role in production growth and employment. The case study presented in this research is companies located in Finland, whose knowledge capital, productivity and employment growth is estimated and analyzed on the basis of linked employer-employee data from the years 1996-2002. The findings of this study reveal that R&D subsidies have positive influence on the productivity growth of small and medium-sized firms. |
