| Tiivistelmä: | In order to assess and track university research quality, this paper proposes a metric, the research quality index (RQI) which is a composite index encompassing the three main areas: publications, research grants and higher degree by research activity. Such an index will also facilitate benchmarking internally, competitively and generically by academic units in universities. This paper illustrates the compilation and operation of the RQI. In Australia, the Research Quality Framework (RQF) has proposed for the future research funding mechanism for Australian universities etc. |
