| Tiivistelmä: | The appropriate design of computer-based systems for supporting managers, referred to here as management support systems (MSSs), is of central importance in both fundamental research and real-world application. By using a unique integrative approach, the authors developed and deployed a system for supporting managers of consumer products at a large manufacturer and were able to evaluate the system in actual use. This integrative perspective for designing MSSs relates the object and mode of decision support required from a MSS to dominant system-design characteristics. |
