| Tiivistelmä: | For the past four years, the author's "Legally Speaking" columns have warned about over-broad and imbalanced proposals for digital copyright, database protection, and licensing of information legislation. Since the author wrote her last column on these issues there have been some important developments. As to each, there is some good news and some bad news. One important development was the passing of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) by the U.S. Congress in September 1998. |
