Tiivistelmä:Scientific knowledge discovery tasks can be carried out using inductive logic programming (ILP). The results the author reviews have been published in leading scientific journals and are among the strongest examples of semiautomated scientific discovery in the Al literature. Other discovery areas of ILP include linguistic features in natural language data and patterns in highway traffic data. ILP can be more effective than neural nets for delving into biological function data for pharmaceutical engineers developing new drugs and their multiple varieties.
