For the purposes of the study, the market has been divided into the following sectors: 1) Retail - sanitary protection; nappies/diapers; incontinence products; wipes; cotton wool/buds; toilet paper; tissues; kitchen towels; paper tableware; 2)Away-from-home (AFH) - incontinence products; wipes; toilet paper; tissues; paper tableware; paper towels. The main findings are the following: Overall sales of disposable paper products reached FF18,401 million in 2000, an increase of 4.5% over 1999. The most dynamic products were wipes with around 20% growth in 2000 alone. Toilet paper, the largest sector of the retail market, accounted for one quarter of value sales in 2000. |
