| Tiivistelmä: | As the populations of industrialised countries have aged, the prohibitive cost and wasteful nature of early retirement policies have become increasingly apparent. The authors assess current thinking and argue for an approach that combines part-time work and pension rights. Employers are slowly starting to realise that jettisoning older staff can result in an irreparable loss of skills and expertise. The solution which many countries are adopting is "gradual retirement", claim the authors of this article. |
