| Tiivistelmä: | The Japanese video cassette recorder industry has entered a re-expansion period. VCR decks, which make up a 50-million-unit market worldwide, are maintaining a steady 3% to 4% year-on-year growth globally. However, in the Japanese market, sales of VCR decks soared a colossal 25% in 1995 from the previous year. Also, the release of the digital camcorder (DVC) is boosting the domestic camcoder market. It has been about 20 years since the first VCRs were released in the market. |
