Tiivistelmä:This article provides feedback from business professionals who reviewed the business language curriculum of undergraduate courses in Business Spanish at the University of Texas at Austin. Their comments indicate that for both language and cultural issues, the use of Spanish becomes more useful within the realm of the soft skills, more than the actual business per se. That is to say, independent of technical business aspects, language proficiency becomes most important in the generic cognitive skills: finding contacts, meeting people, establishing partners, maintaining relationships, providing follow-up, etc. However, they also emphasize the development of presentation skills and of being able to describe your professional background, including your company's products or business model.
