Tiivistelmä:There are different perspectives (herein as: prcps.) on corporate social responsibility (CSR). This article analyzes what types of CSR initiatives (as: inits.) are supported by political (here as: pol.) and economic (as: econ.) arguments. The distinction i. btw. different CSR prcps. and CSR issues and ii. btw. pol. and econ. arguments could help to advance the discussion on the justification and welfare impact of CSR. Ordinary boundary conditions for business behaviour in a market economy are argued to offer support for some, yet not all, CSR inits. Based on the analysis, it is proposed that there should be more attention paid to the behaviour of large multinational companies in their normal business operations and to CSR issues with a potentially large impact on the functioning of market.
