| Tiivistelmä: | R and D (research and development) departments frequently encounter many barriers in transferring their outputs to other departments. Several guidelines are presented to overcoming such barriers, based on the experiences of 12 firms in transferring new process control technologies from R and D to manufacturing. These results are from TECHTRAN, a research program at the Technology Management Studies Institute that is aimed at understanding and alleviating barriers to technology transfer. These barriers can be overcome by a system of promoters derived from an analysis of the user's needs, the R and D organization's capabilities and the characteristics of the technology being transferred. |
