Chairman and CEO R. W. Smith describes how Bell Atlantic managed personal, organizational, and technological change as it pursued an aggressive business growth strategy. Smith established a Quality Improvement Process and launched an organized program of forums for 20,000 managers stressing behaviours such as accountability, risk-taking, and team work.
