| Tiivistelmä: | This article estimates the effect of recorded property crime on property prices in the London area. The evidence suggests that property crimes have a significant negative impact on property prices. Burglaries seem to have no measurable effect on prices. The writers conclude that vandalism, graffiti and other forms of criminal damage motivate fear of crime in the community and can be taken as signals of instability in the community and general deterioration of the neighbourhood. |
