Tiivistelmä: | The leading industrial economies absorb more than 60% of foreign direct investment. Increasingly, the rest is finding its way to a super-league of developing countries. Topping this league, according to the UN's World Investment Report of 1994, is China. In 1993 alone China welcomed USD 26 billion of direct investment. That represented one-third of all new investment in developing world. As a host for direct investment funds, China ranks second only to the US. Euromoney's ranking of investment competitiveness confirms that China offers one of the most competitive investment environments in non-OECD countries, behind Singapore and Soth Korea. This means it should continue to draw in a large portion of the direct investment flowing into the developing world. |
