Tiivistelmä:Past research and literature reviews have suggested that several personal dimensions are important in work role transitions involving international transfer. A sample of Japanese expatriate managers adjusting to living and working in the USA was chosen to test the relationship of cultural flexibility, social orientation, willingness to communicate, ethnocentricity, and conflict resolution orientation with three facets of psychological adjustment: adjustment to the general environment, to the work situation, and interacting with host nationals. With the exception of ethnocentricity, all the personal characteristics are related to all three facets of adjustment.
