| Tiivistelmä: | The authors state that the pharmaceutical industry has always been a knowledge-based industry and its profitability is based on its past ability to create and utilize new scientific knowledge. In a recent study of 44 pharmaceutical companies carried out by TFPL, it emerged that many firms have adopted, or adopting knowledge management, but few actually use the KM label. In this paper the authors reveal how knowledge management (KM) is impacting the pharmaceutical sector. Also the authors provide the approaches to KM and factors driving enthusiasm for KM in the sector. The paper also pays an attention to the topic of critical succes factors. |
