Tiivistelmä:Unilever is used to creating purpose-built, temporary taxonomies that harness knowledge today for tomorrow's products. The author demonstrates how this can generate powerful results and creativity, tapping into recourses outside a team's everyday experience. The author in this paper describes the results of an approach in building company taxonomies for preventing information overload and identifying knowledge. The paper also considers Unilever's approach to taxonomy generation and the necessity of high-level maps of the likely external hunting grounds for new knowledge. In this paper the author pays an attention to essential basic tools for initiating mapping process in groups and to benefits of coherent information architecture in companies.
