| Tiivistelmä: | Mislocated resources and the poor development of national capital markets are problems that international financial institutions have to face in the developing countries. This article discusses alternative ways to get long term loans through to businesses in developing countries with a 'just' interest rate at conditions where there is no market rate of interest as a quideline. Credit auctions can be an effective tool in the course of developing functioning financial markets. Detailed case examples of credit auctioning in Chile and Bolivia are included. |
