| Tiivistelmä: | The Commission has recently published its Proposal for a European Parliament and Council Directive on the sale of consumer goods and associated guarantees. The Proposal is aimed at stimulating cross-border purchases by ensuring that consumers can be confident of a minimum level of rights wherever they buy their goods within the EC. It would have a substantial impact on in the United Kingdom in three ways. First, it would allow consumers to rely on the manufacturer's advertising in any claim that a product is not in "conformity with the contract". |
