| Tiivistelmä: | In this year. the situation of the timber market is similar to that of the overall commodity market, displaying at a slight growth of resources, a rather big decline of demand, an increase of stock and a recovery of price. It is predicted that the timber market of this year can be charactered by the following points. first, the resources will decrease a little. The state has determined 4936 ten thousand cubic meters timber production in 1998, 3.1% down than 1997. Secondly, the demand will tend to be stable, up to 5920 ten thousand cubic meters in the whole year, increasing 1.1% in comparison with that of 1997. Finally, the price will pick up step by step and then tend to be constant. |
